Vacuum brazing of carbon steel and low alloy steel
Vacuum brazing characteristics
Carbon steel and low alloy casks are the most widely used materials in various industrial sectors.The ease of brazing of such materials depends first on the oxide composition and structure formed on the surface.When heated, four oxides of iron tend to form on the steel steam surface. However, the structure of all iron oxide is porous and unstable, in vacuum brazing furnace, can be decomposed from high oxide to low oxide at lower vacuum degree and temperature, and finally automatically eliminate. Therefore, this kind of steel has excellent brazing performance in vacuum.
When vacuum brazing low-alloy steels, other oxides may be generated as the alloying element content increases, which must be taken into account when selecting the filler metal and formulating the process.In addition, alloy steel is often used in quenching and tempering state, so the annealing softening during needle vacuum brazing should be considered.
