Textile equipment traveler is an easy-wearing part used in conjunction with steel rings on textile machinery. The main failure mode of steel ring and traveler is friction and wear, and the wear of machine parts mainly starts from the surface. Therefore, when the structural form and material are determined, the impact of the surface performance of the part on its working state and service life is particularly important. important. In order to improve the performance of steel rings and travellers, manufacturers all start from the selection of materials, shape design, manufacturing equipment, process upgrades, vacuum heat treatment and improvement of surface treatment technology, and strive to make steel rings and travellers reach the optimum working condition and longer service life.
To ensure the quality of the steel wire and improve its life, the vacuum annealing process of the flat wire for making the traveler is a key process in its production process. Because the size of the flat wire for making various specifications of the traveler is extremely small, the maximum thickness of the flat wire is 0.5mm. Therefore, to ensure the final quality requirements of the product, the flat wire must be spheroidized and annealed to achieve: the surface is completely free from oxidation, no decarburization, uniform and dispersed spherical carbides.

Vacuum heat treatment has the advantages of high quality, low energy consumption, no pollution (or less pollution), etc. It can effectively prevent flat wire from defects, improve the surface and reduce friction. The vacuum heating is carried out in the form of radiation, the heating is slow, the furnace temperature is uniform, the product deformation is small, and it also has dehydrogenation effect, which is beneficial to improve the life of the flat wire. The whole process of vacuum furnace is controlled by PLC to realize fully automatic production, with low labor intensity and high production efficiency.
Spheroidizing annealing is an annealing to spheroidize carbides in steel to obtain a structure of spherical or granular carbides uniformly distributed on the ferrite matrix. Spheroidizing annealing is mainly used for eutectoid steel and hypereutectoid steel to obtain a spheroidized structure similar to granular pearlite (because it is not necessarily a eutectoid component, so it is called a spheroidized structure), thereby reducing hardness and improving processing performance , and prepare the tissue for vacuum quenching. The spheroidized structure not only has better plasticity and toughness than the lamellar structure, but also has a slightly lower hardness.
